It is very similar to any screen capture software you have used, including the one built into Articulate Storyline. Within the Record screen, you can also narrate and show a video of yourself in the corner of the presentation to add a personal touch. You can even use a pen to scribble content onto the white screen, or highlight certain things that are on your PowerPoint slide. This button activates the video screen capture functionality. So, what can Office Mix do? Let’s take a look at each button contained within the ribbon: Whether it remains free at launch is unknown at this stage. Office Mix (in its current customer preview version) is a free Microsoft add-on for anyone with a copy of Office 2013 or Office 365 with PowerPoint. Is Microsoft looking to get into the eLearning game? It appears so, according to the description: “Office Mix allows you to turn your PowerPoints into interactive online lessons or presentations.” Hmmm, the curiosity got the better of me, and like a lab rat, I walked (or in technology terms, “clicked”) my way into it.

It was a week of power plays and half-naked Rick. Maggie tries to deal with her new captured Saviours and then chucks Gregory in the cage with them when he tries to defy her authority (again!). Ezekiel continues to lose faith in his ability to lead people, despite Carol’s best efforts to change his mind. Carl meets up with the chap from back at the gas station, and after the pair fight off some Walkers, Carl manages to recruit him to help protect Alexandria. Elsewhere, Tara and Daryl plot to work against Rick’s plans and want to drive a truck full of explosives into the Sanctuary. And surprise, surprise, it doesn’t quite go to plan and Rick ends up locked in a shipping container in his underwear by the end of the episode. You know, the folks that totally double-crossed him in the last fight against Negan. In one of the series’ most controversial moves, Rick decides to try and enlist help from Jadis and the Junkyard gang. Read more: 6 questions I have after watching The Walking Dead season 8 episode 5 The Walking Dead S8.06 - The King, the Widow, and Rick Elsewhere, the Rick/Daryl bromance is shattered as they fight and Daryl abandons Rick and leaves him to walk off into the distance. He locks the now very ill Gabriel in a cell (that happens when you cover yourself in Walker guts), where Eugene discovers him. The workers at the Sanctuary begin to revolt, but are stopped before a riot ensues by the reappearance of Negan. They’ve figured out there’s a mole in their midst, with Negan’s lieutenant all growing very suspicious of one another. Instead, far more time is spent showcasing what’s been going down on the Saviours’ side of things. There’s lots of chat about redemption, past sins and forgiveness, but ultimately Gabriel and Negan manage to escape - despite being surrounded by Walkers - without any explanation as to how they survive. But, in true Walking Dead style, it resolves the whole matter in the slowest possible manner. There’s an awesome car chase that makes you wonder whether this is how The Walking Dead action should really be, but it’s all over far too fast. The two Saviours who manage to escape from the earlier shootout with Carol and co, eventually get caught by Rick and Daryl, who are on the hunt for Negan’s hidden stock of. They all managed to get back to the Kingdom safely, but Ezekiel is overcome with self-doubt and anguish. In a moment of utter sadness for the series, Ezekiel’s pet tiger Shiva appears and sacrifices herself to save the trio. The trio attempt to carry the wounded Ezekiel back to the Kingdom, but en route get surrounded by extra toxic Walkers. Oh and Jerry, who rushes in to save Ezekiel from death. As Ezekiel rises from the mountain of corpses just waiting to turn, it’s clear that he and Carol are the only survivors of the ambush. Carol and Ezekiel’s group, meanwhile, attack another Saviour compound, but get ambushed so you’re left wondering if literally everyone dies at the end of the episode. But it turns out it’s a busy day at the Hilltop, because next Maggie has Jesus knocking on her door with the group of Saviour captives - much to the irritation of Tara and Morgan. Gregory finally makes his way back to the Hilltop in Father Gabriel’s car, and after a long heated chat with Maggie, she eventually decides to let him back into the community, despite everything he’s already done. Understandably, Aaron’s quite upset, but he takes it upon himself to become the keeper of Morales’ kid. It’s not just Morales who kicks the bucket in this episode, as we actually lose a few along the way here, including Eric - Aaron’s partner - who was critically wounded in episode ,2 but decided to wait until now to wander off and become a Walker. The problem is, he’s got a baby, and now she’s another screaming kid Rick’s crew has in their midst. Despite the fact they’ve got some history, Daryl doesn’t think twice about taking down Morales, who’s still holding Rick at gunpoint. Timeline slide templates are at their best when events are arranged in a single line or in another linear manner. Let’s take a look at this social media presentation template: That means having a go-to timeline maker is important for internal and external purposes for most businesses and organizations. Many marketers use timelines as part of their content strategies. Timelines are useful for many organizational purposes, including scheduling, planning product launches and ensuring projects stay on time and in budget. Timelines are among the most intuitive types of visual content because the brain immediately recognizes what it’s seeing. Return to Table of Contents Timeline slide templates If you want to impress and engage your audience, a tool like Venngage’s Timeline Maker is the better choice. This certainly could work for some presentations, but the flexibility and creativity in design is limited. Once you have the basic structure created, you can add dates, change the text and colors or modify the layout.
![]() That may not seem like a big deal for games with native resolutions as low as 240p, but an inexact resolution makes it all the more difficult to get pixels to line up properly-and our testing revealed some misaligned pixels in every available resolution while testing on a 4K TV. So if you're using an ultra-wide monitor or a 4K screen, you're currently stuck with unoptimized resolutions. Its resolution picker appears to be locked to four resolutions, no matter what your monitor or Windows PC reports. ugh, PC issues, too?!Īs of press time, the anthology's PC version has a few quirks, as well. (Capcom has yet to confirm exactly how it's emulating any of these classic games.). ![]() Hitches in the Switch's SNES emulation, on the other hand, could point to the game simply relying on the 2006 anthology's emulator-which ran on decidedly different hardware than the Switch's Tegra chip. Neither PS2 MMX game has ever appeared in an anthology before, and that means their emulation was likely written from scratch. So how come the Switch-which is decidedly more powerful than those older consoles-can't quite keep up?Ī clue comes from the second weird issue: that Volume 2's PlayStation 2 games, which run entirely in 3D and therefore require more horsepower, do not suffer from apparent slowdown or hitching. That anthology's emulated games hew much closer to the cartridge versions-meaning, they retain a few key slowdown moments and otherwise lock to a 60 frames-per-second refresh. But maybe not on Switch.įurther Reading What went wrong with this week’s horrendous Mega Man Mobile? This is weird for two reasons: first, because Capcom has already been down this road by way of the Mega Man X Collection, which launched in 2006 for PlayStation 2 and GameCube. ![]() The second volume will still be there should you be morbidly curious or if you think $20 is a fine price to see what you missed on later consoles. Thus, if you're looking to scratch a nostalgic itch or if you're unfamiliar with the MMX series, aim your X-Buster at Volume One. And in great news, you don't have to get Volume Two in order to fight against that game's later bosses both volumes seem to offer the same boss rush content. This "loadout" system offers a tricky, interesting way to make players pace out their boss-battling stamina. To aid your fight, you get to pick from three special weapons before three rounds-meaning, you need to pick the best weapons for all six bosses. In this brand-new mode, every level is a boss battle against two "maverick" robots (often from different MMX games). There's an argument to be made about X8's mechanics and levels being good enough to endure its lousy 3D graphics, but X7's constant camera switches and 3D levels were terrible in 2003-and have only declined with age.īoth volumes include a seemingly identical (and quite fun) "boss rush" mode. The 3D-ized X7 and X8 from the PS2, on the other hand, garner far more mixed reactions from fans. X5 and X6, which were mostly 2D affairs on the PS1, aren't as fondly remembered, thanks to those entries running out of new ideas (and being dominated with arguably obnoxious voice acting and cut scenes). The second volume finishes with X5- X8 (and thus skips a PS2 RPG and a pair of Game Boy Color entries). X4 was the first to let players choose the series' sword-wielding character (named Zero) from the start, which only added to the game's spice. All three SNES entries in the series saw Capcom firing on all robot-master cylinders, with each game pushing speed-burst, wall-jump, and armor-upgrade options to deliver the epitome of mid-'90s hardcore platforming. The first volume, which collects the first four games (three on SNES, one on PS1), is indisputably the better one. Capcom could have forced all buyers to pay for the whole $40 package, so its decision to split the purchase is perhaps the kindest thing it could have done. Should you opt for a physical edition on any console, you're stuck buying both volumes at a $40 MSRP. The simplest issue to navigate, at least, is the matter of its "volumes."Ĭapcom has split this anthology series into two purchases, each priced $20 digitally on every platform ( Windows PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch). We get a sense that with all of the characters on screen, there is a lot to be had, yet the constraints of the medium mean that only certain storylines could be fleshed out. The direction is mostly strong, having a solid pace up until the end, when the film seems to slow and meander a bit. Still, his chemistry with Mia is palpable. Her Jane Eyre is one brimming with emotion, complexity, and drive, yet one ever so elegantly restrained with a sort of melancholy venire. Yet the heart of the story is a fascinating one, with the film remaining anchored with the character of Jane Eyre, played rather brilliantly by Mia Wasikowska. ![]() In additoin, there are parts of the film that feel too compact, as is the pitfalls of many films from novels. I say mostly engaging, as the film does get a bit dull towards the end, with a notable descent in to melancholy. It's very well executed at most every level, with excellent production values, world building, compelling performances, and a mostly engaging narrative. As a 19th Century period piece, Jane Eyre is a successful film. Having not actually read the source material or seen the countless other adaptation of Jane Eyre, one can only judge it based on what it accomplished, and against the genre that it's a part of. |
